  • Nuts:

  • Oats:

    Intake of both oatmeal and oat bran is very beneficial for your heart. This is because these are the best forms of cereal which help in maintain the lower levels of cholesterol in the body. Intake of oats is very effective in removing the cholesterol content from the body because oat are soluble fibers which gets attached to the cholesterol content and carry them out through the digestive system of the body. Intake of ½ – 2 cups of oatmeal in a day helps in lowering the levels of cholesterol content greatly in the body. Intake of oatmeal can be taken in the form of hot or cold oatmeal or along with some recipes like cookies and muffins.

  • Psyllium:

    Psyllium is produced from the husk of the Plantogo ovata seeds. It also contains soluble fiber which when added to the cereal products helps in reducing the levels of cholesterol in the body. This fiber is mostly used for making laxatives. Researches have proved that the intake of 4 1/2 grams of psyllium helps in lowering the levels of cholesterol content drastically in the body.
