High Triglyceride And Heart Stroke

Previously there was a view that elevated levels of LDL can result in heart stroke but the latest finding have declared that the higher levels of triglyceride played a major in the development of the heart stroke.

Studies have proved that there is a condition called Transient ischemic attack or mini stroke which is first caused due to high cholesterol. In this condition a blood clot develops which can result in the permanent symptoms or disability of the heart.

Study was conducted on over 11,000 people who were suffering from coronary heart disease but had never suffered a stroke. It was studied that if the triglyceride levels content was raised in the body of such people then it increases the risk of heart stroke up to 30 %.

So, it was proved that higher levels of triglycerides can result in heart stroke very effectively, so it is very necessary to keep the levels of triglyceride below 200 mg/dl. Some of the steps which can be followed to keep the levels of triglyceride in control are discussed below.

  • Physical Activity:

    In order to keep the levels of triglyceride in control it is important to carry out some physical activity on regular basis. This can include running, jogging, swimming, playing some outdoor game etc. But 30 -60 minutes of workout will greatly help in reducing the count of your triglycerides.

  • Intake Of Fish:

    Fishes are known to carry omega 3 fatty acids in them which is capable of reducing the level of triglyceride in the body. So it is advisable to eat fish twice in a week to maintain the levels of Triglyceride in the body.
