Triglycerides or the fatty deposits are the end product of all the digested food and bulky fats in our body. So all the food which we eat in the carbohydrate and fats are all converted chemically into triglycerides. These triglycerides are then bundled together and transported to liver through blood where they are inside a low density protein called lipoprotein.

  • Regular exercise or some amount of physical activity is very important for the body. Brisk walking, swimming, jogging, running etc. for 30-60 minutes will help in reducing the amount of triglyceride in the body.
  • The higher levels of triglyceride can be due to the excessive weight of the body. So it is advisable to reduce your body weight as early as possible.
  • Intake of saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol must be reduced in your diet. This will help in reducing your cholesterol and triglyceride levels also in your blood.
  • Intake of alcohol also has intense effect on the triglyceride level in the body. So it is advisable to reduce its intake as well. Those with very high levels of cholesterol and triglyceride levels must stop it entirely.
  • Intake of omega 3 fatty acids in sufficient amount will help in reducing the level of triglycerides greatly in your body. So, you are advised to eat more fish especially fishes like herring, sardines, mackerel, lake trout, albacore tuna etc. at least twice in a week. These will improve your triglyceride numbers greatly.
