High density lipoprotein (HDL) which is also known as good cholesterol is helpful in carrying away the bad cholesterol to the liver, from where it thrown out.   • Intake of Green Tea:

    Regular intake of freshly brewed green tea regularly will greatly increase your HDL cholesterol. Intake of instant or premixed bottles will not be of any help.

  • Intake of Red Wine:

    It is beneficial for raising the HDL levels in the body, as it is rich in flavonoids and antioxidants. Secondly, it also helps in reducing the blood sugar and blood pressure of the body. Intake of 1-2 glass of red wine daily is beneficial but excessive consumption can lead to many other health problems. So, it is advisable to consume it in limited amount only.

  • Intake Of Foods Carrying Vitamin D:

    It has been noticed that deficiency of vitamin D in body can reduce HDL levels in body. It is therefore advisable to restore vitamin D to normal level, as it will initiate in increasing the count of HDL in body.     Intake of polysaturated and monosaturated fat enhances the anti-inflammatory abilities of HDL hence, improving the balance between good and bad cholesterol. Intake of healthy fat is beneficial but intake of saturated fat must be in limited amount, as it increases your bad cholesterol quickly. Foods items like olive oil, peanut oil, canola oil are carriers of poly saturated fats which help in improving your HDL. Similarly, nuts also full of good fats and they carry protein as well. So eat them regularly to keep yourself fit and healthy.
