A lipid panel test is a blood test that gives all the total, good, bad cholesterol and triglyceride levels. These are measured in terms of milligrams per deciliter of blood (mg/dL).

Total Cholesterol

Total blood cholesterol is the common measurement for blood cholesterol. The normal levels of

Good Cholesterol

Good cholesterol is high density lipoprotein. The

. A level less than 50mg/dL in women and a level less than 40 mg/dL in men are considered to be poor and may pose a risk for heart diseases. Levels above 60 mg/dL are good for maintaining a good heart health.
